"We're all really excited about it," Panthers left guard Mike Wahle said. "We love what's going on. We're installing new things and everyone's excited about the opportunities we have in front of us. It's up to us to go out there and execute them."
"I love how wide open it is," said Panthers wide receiver Keary Colbert. "There are a lot of talented players, and I think we are utilizing that. I don't think it's focused on one particular run or pass or anything like that. We're just putting the ball in playmakers' hands and letting them do what they can do, and I think that is going to help us this year."
According to quarterback Jake Delhomme, it all starts with the big guys up front. "I think up front is going to be a big thing," Delhomme said. "Hopefully we don't have injuries, and if we don't I really believe having Dave Magazu is really going to be a big feather in our cap. Everybody's on the same page, which is good."
Coach Fox notices the change in attitude in his team.
"I think the players are challenged from the cadence to the types of plays, and how we call the plays is different," Fox said. "There is a new energy, and I'm sure there is some excitement that goes along with that."
"We're all really excited about it," Wahle said. "We love what's going on. We're installing new things and everyone's excited about the opportunities we have in front of us. It's up to us to go out there and execute them."
"The old offense was in place, and we did some good things with that offense," noted Delhomme. "But last year we just didn't do enough. That's the NFL. Players and coaches are always on the chopping block. We have a new system in. We're doing a lot of new things. I think we have the talent here to be a good football team. And I think we have the discipline here to do the right things. I really believe that.
Do we get it done on Sundays? That's next."
